Dear Mom:
Here is the letter you have been waiting for. I have been a little slow in writing it.
We arrived here Thursday night about 1 o'clock. We had no sooner got into bed than another bunch came in but I went to sleep anyway.
There were only 6 of us from Grande Prairie. The trip was sure a lot of fun with only a small party. The corporal that was in charge of us let us do just as we wanted. We could get off at any station to get something to eat or to stretch our legs which we did.
We left Saturday morning at 10:45 and arrived in Edmonton at 8 o'clock the next morning. I didn't leave Edmonton until 9:30 that night.
I met a WREN on the train who stayed on until we got to Ottawa. We had a lot of fun together. When we were in Winnipeg we had dinner together. The train got into Wpg at 6:10 and didn't leave until 8 o'clock. The only thing was that I couldn't see gram as we were traveling CNR.
Excuse this letter as I am laying on my bed and am half asleep. I started one last night and went to sleep I will try to do better today.
The camp here is a new one and it is not in Halifax, it is a few miles outside. Even at that we can get into Halifax without much trouble. I haven't been in yet but several of the boys have been.
Since I have arrived here I have picked up a sore throat. I am going to go over to the M.O. in a little while and get him to do something for it.
We are only about a quarter of a mile from the water. I was watching a convoy coming in yesterday.
I will be here about 2 months training. I am training for a driver in the light ack ack. Where I go from here I don't know. Some of the fellows are going overseas, they are some who have finished their training. We get leave when we finish here. So I may be able to get home then.
Well I think I will close now but I will write again soon.
Love to all
Ted
