Dear Aunt Annie,
Received your welcome letter of April 3rd some time ago but have been so busy lately that I have really no time.
We have been out on Rest for nearly three weeks have been doing open war fare manoeuvres and harness cleaning all the time. Tuesday especially was a rather hard day. Reveille was a two in the morning we cleaned and fed our horses had breakfast and moved off at 4:45 A.M. and did not get back till 5:30 P.M. I was riding all day and believe me I was some tired.
We have been having some rather hot weather for the past week or so and believe me I have got some sun burn now.
Thanks very much for sending my name in to the Wm Briggs Pub. Co. and just as soon as I get a magazine I'll let you know.
Well I've quite run out of news so must close for this time. I hope you are all quite well as this leaves me.
Love to all, from,
Your loving nephew,
Elwood
