Dear Mother,
Am writing you a few lines today, hoping this finds you all well as this leaves me. I wonder if you got my last letter. Well mother dear, this is two weeks over here now and I'm still in the same camp, but I am expecting to go further up any time now. I am looking for some letters to be waiting for me when I get there, as I haven't had any yet, since I've been here. So I'll have a busy time writing when I do get it. I wonder what things look like in Canada. This is nice where we are, but we all like to talk about when we go back. I've done pretty well since I got here, as I got two passes since I've been here, and had a fine time here and like it better over here than in England, although I guess it would look a lot better in the summer, but we had the worst part of the year there. I sure enjoyed the week I spent at Starston best of all, and I hope to get another chance to see them before I go back to Canada again. I was awful sorry I didn't get to auntie. I guess you will have heard from them since I was with them. I'm expecting the photos I promised to send you, when we get to our Hd qrs, and I will be sending some of a friend taken over here. I have to close now and I'll be sure to write when we move, so give my love to all, and love to mother, from your loving son,
Frank.
