CHEAM LODGE no. 28, I.O.O.F.
Agassiz, B.C. June 22nd 1918

Mrs M. Welsh,
Box 39, R.R. No.1.
Kincardine, Ont,

Dear Mrs Welsh,_

I have instructed to convey to you our feelings and sympathy with you in the adversed report of your son and a brother of this Lodge we regret very much to learn of Jack (as we all call him out here) being missing at the front and we sincerely hope better news will be forthcoming of him.

He has a host of friends in British Columbia who will gladly welcome any good word of him.

It is not necessary for me to comment on the trial and anxiety that this terrible conflict is causing only those of us who have our loved ones in the midst of it can realize what it means the writer has just had his only son (of military age) return a week ago though crippled we feel so thankful for the sight of him again and We sincerely hope that you will be in a similar position when you will have Jack with you again, well and hearty.

With very best wishes for good tidings,
Yours faithfully

H. Fooks
Treasurer.
