Dear Mom Feb 1, 1942
I've read your first letter dated Oct. 20 and the Xmas card from Jim with all the signatures. Also Agnes' letter of Nov. 14. So far I've about 25 letters including Xmas cards I quite a collection of snaps. No parcels yet but from your letter it won't long now. Thanks a million for all the trouble you're taking to send me stuff I could never tell you how much I love you all or how often I think of you during the long day here. I look forward to getting your letters & the news of home. Please keep up the good work & send all the photos you can. Whenever I feel blue I take out your pictures & look through them. They help cheer me up. I'm having nothing whatever to do with my father & am sorry he caused you trouble. I only wrote him a couple of times while in the Air Force. Don't worry, I know where my real friends are. Glad to hear Brenda is getting along so well. Don't she look cute in riding [?]? Our [?] was killed but the rest of us baled and successfully. Thank Jim for card & tell him I expect lots of sports news. Sorry can't write more but love to Agnes & Perry Regards to gang. Love to Brenda & Jim & yourself. Syd.
