May 28, 1945. Hello Brenda - How's the family? I rec'd a letter from Mom today addressed to 357. The other day I rec'd cable replying to first one I sent and letter May 12. I'm waiting now to go back to Canada and should be leaving the next few days. Bournemouth is a good place to wait - lots of sea breezes here. Spent all day yesterday on the beach but didn't go near the water. I'll stick to my daily hip bath. It's just starting to rain - this place is Victoria all over again - showers and sunshine all mixed up. Hope Toronto agrees with you and your chillun. I'll be walking in on you one of these days. Hope the lads like ice-cream sundes, so I can give them a treat (and me too.) I get the odd ice cream cone here and its odd ice cream too. Still I seem to be getting fat on it. I had a good time seeing the Barretts[?] in Chiltonham[?] all swell people. They send their love to you and the family. They were quite excited to hear about Bobbie, as am I for the matter. He sounds like a real healthy kid - when do Linda & he start doing to dishes? I seem to remember that's when trouble begins. Does Bob have to study very hard? Well, since I'll be seeing you soon, we'll leave off till then. Solong, lots of love to all, Syd.
