Nov. 17, 1944. Dear Mom - Last Thursday I was agreeably surprised to receive my Aug. personal, complete with heavy underwear, for which I am very gratefull, believe me. Then on Saturday my May parcel came in, to make my joy complete. Good old peanut butter and maple sugar (thank Brenda). To say nothing of the good coffee and brown sugar, in fact, everything was there. As I've said before, and really mean, you sure put up a grand parcel. I'm making apple-sauce for breakfast tomorrow and I've got my underwear on, so you can see how the parcels are being used. In addition to personals, I got six fag parcels during the last week, one Winchesters from you, two from Iversens[?] League, two from Spencers, Van. and McAdam. Also got your letters of Aug. 21, 26 and Sept. 10 (latest from you Sept. 22) and Jim's Aug. 22. Thanks for parcels again, solong, love to all, Syd.
