Dear Lettie

I received your letter last night dated as usual ___. Was glad to hear that you was well but sorry to hear about George but hope to hear that those glasses will fix him up. I have just had a letter from Jim McAllister. He is in hospital in Glasgow. He got hit in the right arm with a piece of shrapnel. He says one bone is fractured but the wound is healing fine. We are having cold weather still. It has been about the same for about three weeks now. It is very frosty at nights. You were speaking about those boxes. Well the tin ones is all right if you sew cloth around them the same as you did the last one. Alex said he was sending me another box and one coming from Mary so I will be all right but we could certainly do with them just now. Your mother is having quite a stay with you. Is she just staying the month? What is your father doing this winter? Does George shovel the snow for you? How is the Danforth Bridge getting along. Is it about finished or not? Well I will close for this time as I have to go on sentry just now. One of the boys is making some hot cocoa so we can have before we go out. So write whenever you can. With lots of love
