Letter
In the trenches.
Mon. Dec 4th 1916
My dearest Mother
Sorry I haven't written before this in answer to yours, Father's and Minnie's but a bad cough doesn't make one feel inclined for anything, let alone writing, consequently the time has gone and I haven't done it.
I'm looking forward to that parcel arriving. For goodness sake don't leave it too late will you?
As you see I'm up the line once more and having a good time but not half as good as a week or so ago. Still it's not so dusty with a brush.
I haven't anything more to write for I feel absolutely void of inspiration.
So bye-bye.
Ever your loving boy
Jack.
No more socks wanted yet awhile.
