Feeling O.K. once more after a month in hospital with trench fever. It's not a very nice thing to have, but we must look on the bright side of things. While in hospital was not dodging Fritz's shells. I came into trenches today to stay for six days. Our dugout is quite neat. We have part of a table and a piece of looking-glass, and three badly battered chairs, some post cards from far away friends tacked on the wall, a stove which has been pretty well blown to bits but we make it answer the purpose, and a lighted candle on the table. Taken all through we have a nice dining room, although it is in the cellar of a house that has been blown to pieces, we dare not go above the cellar or a Fritz sniper might puncture us.
