Dear Lilian:
This has been rather a long day. I've waited all the afternoon for a chap to meet me here and he hasn't turned up.
I arrived back from Scotland Friday morning. Had a very pleasant time there although I was alone. I didn't meet any of the chaps I know, and usually I run across someone whereever I go.
Yesterday morning I went down to Bramshott and returned in the evening. I saw a lot of the old boys there and several more that I expected to see have returned to Canada.
This morning I met one of the boys just over from the battalion and he told me that they have moved from Mons to somewhere near Brussels and intend staying there for a while.
I leave here Wednesday morning and should be back for Christmas. I don't want to miss the Christmas dinner with the battalion.
The chap I saw this morning told me that Huntly Matheson is in London but I haven't seen him. He is nearly well again and I suppose will go home.
Its dinner time so I must go and eat.
Lovingly,
Reg.
