Belfast, Ireland, U. K

February 21, 1946

Dear Mom,

I'm in Ireland again! And I'm finding it as swell as ever!

My first few days were spent roaming around.

I arrived on Saturday 16th at noon, and I had a date with Frances at two p.m., so I lost no time. We went to the movies, and to supper, and then to a dance. It was a great day, but I was quite tired in the evening after such a long train and boat ride. But it was all perfect!

On Tuesday and Wednesday I went to the famous historical city of Londonderry. Then on Wednesday, I took bus rides to the nearby towns of Coleraine, Portstewart and Portrush, the latter two being famous summer resorts, not so "summery" now with the seas battering the coast-line, but still very picturesque.

Last night I arrived back in Belfast. This afternoon I go on a tour of Galleher's Tobacco Factory, and will be seeing Frances tonight.

Love, Lewis.
