Mon. July 16 -
Parades. In evening about six, I was warned to report with kit at the guns, so I left soon after. I was taking J.J MacDonald's place. He is going on leave to Canada. Gunner now - Cpl. Bowers, Bdr. Avery, Devere, Kent & myself. Oxley is helping in cookhouse. We were on guard at night. I had second beat. Gun pits and saps have been much improved during my three weeks at waggon lines.
