Dear Pa.
Just a few lines in answer to your letter of Mar. 7 which we got the last trip in the trenches. Had a pretty hot time and couldn't do any letter writing just then. We got paid yesterday and had a bath and some new clothes and feel in good trim again. To-morrow is Easter Sunday and I think I'll get some eggs to-day and celebrate. Geordie & I had some close shaves the last trip in but managed to come out all right.
Alvin Mitchell was badly wounded & his brother George was killed the first night in. I wrote you a couple of letters to North Bend after you moved but I guess you got them some time.
We have rec'd all your letters so far. They work the mail & parcel system pretty good out here.
Well must close as I should write to Mag. Hope you still like B.C. When we get back I'll go out & see you but if it's anything like "Somewhere" I won't stay long. So-long for just now.
Your Loving Son
Al.
