France June 9/1918 Dear Mrs. T - Have not received any news from home for quite some a time now. Am expecting word from day to day. How are things going? I suppose Victoria is looking her best now. Wish I were there to enjoy it. We are getting on nicely here. Country is very pretty, and at time one can hardly realize that there is a war on, are well treated here Have a nice bunch of officers and good NCO's. Believe me it helps some. Get good meals and plenty of food. Have some enjoyable concerts at the YMCA and a good Y. Canteen. So you see taken all in all we are "jake" as the saying goes. We have a fine baseball team and they clean up everything that comes along. We are holding a sports day on Wednesday. I may run in the 100 yds if I think I can get up enough speed. Wish I was in trim, as I used to be out on the coast. Do you remember the sports days we used to have. Am too heavy now.Address all mail 1st Canadian D.A.C, B.E.F. France. By the way I am with Harold Kerr here which makes it very nice. Lester West is back in England taking up the aviation course. Give me all the news from home when you write. Love to all the kiddies Lovingly, Ray
