Went to see Elsie Ried this afternoon. We left for Patawawa (173 men) at 8.50 tonight. Mr & Mrs Thanfian so me off also Jean & Mrs Davidson they gave me some candy.

2 Friday

Mamma, Papa & Girtie met the train at 5 a.m. to say good bye to me the train stopped 5 m. This may be the last time I will see my father & mother. Saw John's motter byck at Pavona but no John. I was guard on the train all night.
