Dear Mom Jan. 18, 1942 I rec'd your letter dated Oct. 30 & Brenda's of Nov. 17. So far I've got three from you - Nov. 6 and 13 being others. One other of Brenda's Nov. 2 & Jims Nov. 2. Also Xmas cards. Thanks for the snaps. Please send lots more & tell Brenda to keep up the good work. No parcels yet but from what you say it won't be long now. Thanks very much for all the trouble you're taking - I really appreciate it some day I'll be there to thank you personally. Glad to hear Chick is still going strong - lucky guy. But I guess I can't kick - everything here is fine and I'm keeping in good health. There's a great gang of fellows here & we all manage to keep cheerful. I won't give permission re personal effects, they are best where they are. Red Cross supply us with everything you mentioned. No piano here worse luck. Include local news in letters when you can & thank Jim for sports news. Are you on the alert for Japs out there? Wish I could write more but this is the ration. Keep smiling & give my love to Brenda & Jim. Solong, Mom, for now & all the love in the world. Syd.
