Dear Mrs. Addison

Two or three days ago I received a parcel from you. The parcel arrived in very good shape, showing that it was well packed, for it did a lot of travelling to find me, first Italy & then over here. To-night we finished off the last of the “eats” a can of soup. The socks I am saving for my leave to England – the first real leave in over 18 months.

I do not know if I am right but I think the parcel came thru the efforts of the Humewood Home & School Club for I heard that they sent me one. If I owe them thanks as well, would you thank them for me.

Last year the club sent me a parcel, but it was one of ten – that I know off, that got lost.

Your name sounds a bit familiar to me. I think I made canvas of your home once for my milk route with Fairglen Dairy. At any rate you must of burnt some of the cards I put in your door. I guess it sounds as if I am still pledging for them, but I only said that in hopes that you might remember me.

Again thanks for the parcel & I hope that next year at Xmas time, parcels you send out won’t have any Army, Airforce, or Navy numbers on them.

I am yours truly

Ted Saunders
