My Dear Mother:-
I have just written a few letters so before I put my pencil away I'll add a short letter to you too. I received your letter of April 30th on Monday. That makes three of your letters in three days so you can see that your mail is coming regularly now. Your parcel of April 8th isn't here yet. I think I have answered all you asked me concerning with the except of the amount owing to Aunt Lizzie. I will deal with that in a letter soon. On Monday I also had a very nice letter from Miss Shields at Lipton, one from Barbara N., one from Aunt Lizzie, Nellie, Fred Carrothers and one from Regina. There have been quite a few changes in Lipton. Mr. Taylor, the Banker there, whom I often spoke of, has gone to Prince Albert and they have opened another room in the school. Fred seems to be doing nicely. Barbara tells me that Wesley C. is likely to be called up; also Murray K. The new Order-in-Council will seem rather severe I suppose but I see no reason why anyone should or fear concerning coming over here.
As Murray is coming back home I suppose Charlie cannot get back to school this term. We are still soldiers in billets. A German bombing squadron went over the village last night and dropped a few bombs and woke us up. They fell about seventy-five yards away and certainly made some noise. Some houses were blown down, windows broken but no one was hurt.
Well, must close with best love from
Yours
F.C.C.
