My Dear Mother:-

Just a few lines to tell you I am well and hope to get out of this place in a couple of weeks. No money yet and I can assure you it is little pleasure being penniless. The weather has been quite wet for the last few days altho' it has been fine all day today. I paraded and got put on general class today. That is most advanced. My leg is still weak but I don't want to stay any longer than is necessary.

I haven't been down to Bexhill yet. On Sat. afternoon I spent an hour or so on the beach. We have good beds so I spend lots of time sleeping. Meals are fairly good. The cooking is done by WAACS. However you only get about half supply.

I had a letter from Andy MacGill on Saturday. I should see him when I go on leave. Have had none of your mail since I was wounded.

Well, will close as this is a poor pen.

Yours
