My darling:

It's me again, and I've just finished having a talk with your mother. She thinks it's all right for us to be engaged, but she says not to make up our minds too fast, because we might be sorry for it later on. She doesn't know I've already said "yes" so if you want to tell her, it's okay with me.

I'm awfully glad to hear that you stood first in you class darling. I'm really proud of you. Keep up the good work.

There has been quite a bit of snow here this week, but the sun came out today and it's already turning to slush.

I've made an appointment to get my hair cut tomorrow. Gee I'll bet you won't know me when you get home. I'm even crazier than ever. If that could be possible.

Love, Hilda.
