Dear Mother -

Received your letter of Apr. 21st. The time has passed very quickly while here, in another week we write the exams and then will be posted to a training squadron for flying. I hope to be sent to Armour Heights - near to Toronto. One of the fellows I knew in France and came home together is 2nd in command of a squadron there and will teach me to fly. He is a splendid pilot and a good fellow.

Saw Beattie last night. He is nearly finished his flying. Looks well and likes it very much, also George Styles, Geo & I went to theatre together friday night.

I really think it would be better if Reg. didn't enlist just now. With the two of us in it and Pa not getting any younger Reg. will be better able and just as usefully employed with duties at home. Willie and I will find it very difficult to settle down and Pa has worked so hard to give us a good start that it doesn't seem fair for Reg. to leave as well. I'll write more about it later. There are several things to be considered and I think it would be better if Reg. didn't go into for a while yet.

Had a letter from Willie to-day written 31st of Jan. Also one from Mr. Reid who had received 30 £s.

Must close now. Hope you are well and enjoying fine spring weather.

With love to each one
Your Son
Jim
