On train Nov-2nd
Dear Ma & PA
I am on my way to the [?]. The family arrived safely Saturday. I am jumping with delight because I have got a week or 10 days [?]. I shall probably get back inside 10 days as I want to keep up the good work.
I have just written to the Globe about a talk I had with a man today so look out for it. I spent the day in London buying clothes ect. I am going to be as comfortable as I can and I get $100.00 from the Can. Govt. for outfitting. That [?] sleeping bags etc etc.
I spent part of yesterday in Salisbury town. Addressed a meeting at 6:30 went to Church at 7 & heard a fine sermon on "Cup of Cold Water". We continue to have good times at the Y.M.C.A. then & nearly every night we have inquiries.
The [?] of the fellows is very remarkable. I believe the King is to visit us this week. He will find lots of mud but will get a great welcome.
I am in tip top health & only wish you daddy & mother were as well. Do take good care of yourselves. We hope to find you both well when we return.
You will be comforted to hear that the Staff Chaplain tells me that [?] at the front will be with the hospitals that is our home & there we sleep & eat & [?] when they move we move. That will be reasonably safe unless it means the first line if field hospitals which is hardly likely. We will find lots to do any where if we only do it.
I will write next form the [?]. Much Love to you all from Your [?] son
