Hello again, Mom & Dad,

It is hard writing without a letter to answer, and there really isn't much to write about. I haven't seen any Japs yet and I don't intend to go out looking for them. How are things going back home? Did you hear anymore from the chap that bought Jim's car? I hope he got it running okay. Are you still going down to the cottage. I would like to go back there now, hay fever or no hay fever. A touch of dysentery has been keeping me quite active in the direction of the parliament buildings for a couple of days now. I don't think so much of getting around the world any more. I'd much rather go back to England. Have you heard anything from Jim that surprised you, lately? We wrote back and forth a few times but I never got a chance to see him. I know now that I might have gotten to see Aunt Molly but unless you know where you are going, it is very easy to get lost in England. I got into Liverpool quite a few times and sort of made up for all that time spent in the B.C. "bush". I was just there long enough to want to stay. Margaret eclipses any girl I ever met in Canada. I certainly hope I am not down here three years, like some of the R.A.F. boys have been. This country would make an old man of me in that time. As it is, it's just so much time wasted in my life. It's great from the experience angle, but I can't say that I really like it. When you answer, let me know how long my letters take to reach you. I haven't had so much as a line from Canada since I left. I have sent all my Christmas cards but I guess Jim will be the only one to get his on time. You know what to do about gifts. By the way, the last bond is finished and I've started another one. Be sure and let me know if you get the paid- up one. I've also been wondering if the pay I signed over at Lachine has started coming home yet. I hope to get a letter from some one soon because mail sure makes a difference in morale. Hoping this finds you well, so long for now --

Joe.
