My Dear Beatrice

Just a few lines to you in answer to your welcome letter of Oct 4th and was pleased to hear from you. I am glad that you got a letter from Will. My dear there must have been something the matter with the fellow that got the three months leave. I tell you, they will not let you away without unless he has some specific business to do. We had a lively time the last night, the Air Raider were over here for about 5 hours, but I do not know what damage they done. I guess they got to London on Tuesday night they dropped bombs near here but they went in a field and did no damage. I think that there was some writing of Ethels, tell her to hurry up so as she can write me a letter [portion missing] is supposed to be writing to you this week. Well Dear do not worry about me going back to France that will be a little while yet I think. I am glad you got on so well with your moving job I guess Will is right about getting lights but I do not mind the German airships. I go to bed and sleep just the same when they are around. So now dearie I think this is all I know of to write this time so must conclude with fondest love and kisses to you and my dear children. I remain your affectionate Hubby, George
