Dear Mother:-

We are about due at Ft William so thought I’d drop a line. We all got away safely and I was fortunate to see Jean, Ruby & Francis Cowie before I left. I got a large bag of candy from them and someone gave a box to one of the boys for me. This car resembles a picnic excursion and we have enough cakes candies and fruits to last us two or three days. We had chicken for supper and have just finished breakfast.

Did you get home alright? I think Edith was the only one I did not see and am sorry I missed her. We passed through Kenora at 11.15 last night and stopped about 15 minutes. Well I think I had better close as we are due I think anytime and it is hard to write with this train rocking like a boat. Do not forget my papers and see that you keep a copy yourself. I think it would be safe to mail letters to halifax for they will forward them onto us. But I’d wait I think & I’ll let you know.

So good bye and thank everyone for their parcels I got.

Larry

P.S.

That sponge, glass, gloves are fine mother and just what I wanted.
