Dear Friend A Mansell
Just aline to let you no I am well a present trusting this letter finds you & the rest in good Health. As I must asked you to forgive me for not writting to you sooner. Well the weather is very good here we have had a few snow storms but it soon went away & we have had lost of rain. Well I must tell you I had the pleasure of meeting my brother Willie & he got a slight wound on the hand but is alright again I was talking to him on Saturday & he expects to go Back to his unit before long. He also told me that he had his 14 days leave to London & had a fine time. I also had my leave to London in November & I sure had a good time. But it was as hard to leave there as it was leaving Canada when we new where we were going to & all the time I was there old Fritzie keept well a way with his planes. But I must say it is very hard when ones leave comes threw & he comes threw the battles he has been in & get killed at the station while waiting for his leave train as I have read in the paper which has taken place in France. But one has got to take his chance on land & sea. The day I went on the boat for London it was very windy & the channel was very rough as we were only on for 2 hours. But it made a lot of us sick as the swells sure made it rock. I saw a few of the 93rd boys in London on there leave I seen Fred Kempt & albert scriven one of Norwoods old boys. I hear that Roy Killenbeck is Back in Canada. I was talking to his brother percy & he has a wounded stripe up But is alright again. Well I suppose Conscription shall fetch a few of the slackers out of there dugouts I hear William Andrews is home on leave. Well I would sure like to go home on leave myself But it is hard to get that. But I trust that God will bring us back some day. Well I guess I will close for this time as it leaves me well at present. I will say Good-Bye wishing you & all the rest all Compliments of the new year I Remain your ever friend
