My Dearest Mother
I rec your letter yesterday and glad to know you are all O.K. and I hope Hazel is Happy for I guess she is married now, I will try and send her soming next week just something to remember me by. I also rec your picture, one of you & Bill on motorcycle and the three other ones. they are very good,
Will every thing is just about the same here as ever there was 150 more men came from Ottawa two days ago. all the Vancouver boys that left after we did are with them, I was showing them around town yesterday there is lots of fun for they are as green as grass. but I am not going down town any more this week for it sure is a bum town.
There has been no word of us leaving for the front as yet, and I guess it will be next spring befor we leave I think, we have got 500 engineers in this camp now I was one of the lucky ones I am in barracks now, I have got a nice bed all to myself mattress & pellow, there is a truk for every man in barracks we can lock our stuf up now, we have got two shelves a piece, there is 20 men in our room. The room is 30 feet wide & 50 feet longe so we have all kinds of room we have got a writing table a fire place wash room & bath room and a gramophone, so we are just O.K. now, we could not ask for better quarters, all the rest of the boys are in tents.
Will we are stell on Coast diffence work, But geting teired of it.
There is not much to say as there is no news. so will close, I have not had my leave as yet, But expect to soon, and I hope Hazel all kinds a good luck will write her today. say one paper a week is all I wont, will look for paper & parcel Tomorrow. with all my love Huges & Kisses, will look into the money for you. Write soon I am as ever your loving
