Dear Sir,

I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 17th inst. And have to advise you with regret that No. 666 Pte. C. Evans was reported from the Base on May 11th as “Wounded” but since that date he has not been traced in any of the Base Hospitals.  Everything is being done to locate this soldier and I hope to have definite news for you regarding his whereabouts in the near future.
