Dear Ma, Pa, Rub. & Ruth:
Just a few lines to let you know how I am getting along. I hope that you will be able to read this letter, the writing is not so good because the train shakes quite a bit Every time she goes around a corner it gives a lurch.
The train has just passed through Banff and will next stop at Calgary at 6.35 P.S.T from where I will mail this letter I am also sending a telegram from Calgary which you will have received before you get this letter. We are travelling tourist class which is next to 1st class, so we are sure travelling in style. I have a good place to sleep. The Porter makes up the bed at nights and in the morning. They have one bunch which hangs from the ceiling and the other is made up from the seats directly below. The meals sure are pretty good pretty good too. The news men just came in and said we are just passing The “Three Sisters” you know I mean mountains. All day to-day I have been seeing nothing but mountains “the Rocky Mountains” It sure is swell seeing. Around Banff here there are a lot of deer.
Just often leaving “Revelstoke” this morning I got a “Telegram: from Lorraine which read “Lots of Luck – Best Wishes” That was pretty nice of her don’t you think.” Were you able to get on The phone last night, Ruth?
I was sure glad that I was able to see you all last night when the train passed the ferry. I find it hard to believe that I am actually aboard this train, but it probably won’t be long before I will be heading back home again. I meant to give you your wrist watch had at the station, Rub, but I didn’t remember about it until after the train had left. Maybe, Ma Pa & Ruth will get you another one. Let me know how you are making out with the “Navy” Rub. I hope you get to-gether, and that sure would be swell. If you will all write to me at the address I have jot down at the beginning of this letter I am sure to get it not long after reaching “Toronto” I hope you will overlook this writing but it sure is hard to write aboard a train. I forgot to mention that when I got up this morning it sure was a sunrise to see now on the ground. We are pretty well through the mountains now so we are passed the snow now.
We are getting alone to Calgary now, I just looked out the window and seen couples of cowboys on horseback. I wish sometimes that I had brought my camera with me, but maybe its just as well we could I may lose it.
Well I guess this is about all I have to write about to-day, no hoping that you are all alright I will stop here.
Love to you all
