Dear Father,

It seems to me it is your turn for a letter. I do intent to get two off each week, home, but the girls chatter so in our room at night, that it is hard to get down to letter writing.

I had a nice letter from Atwood yesterday and I expect to see him soon as he will be in London soon for a board and after that will have three weeks sick leave.

Stanley sends along a line quite often. I imagine they are pretty busy there now.

I must find time to write a line to Mrs. Holly as I had a man in our ward last week, who was near Jim when he was killed. He said it was instantaneous.

If we girls can arrange to get a half day off together sometime we are going to take a trip to Oxford. The only time the 3 of us have been off was last Saturday and we took a run up to town. It was quite a rush still we had a very nice time. Marion Crocket’s friend Col. Keiller Mackay took us out to dinner, we also had time to go in & see Dr. & Mrs. Murray MacLaren. We came back by the 9.15.

The weather last week was too hot for comfort. I had no idea it could be so hot in England, but they say the Thames valley is the hottest part of England.

It is getting late, so I will stop, will try and write again this week.
