Dear Winnie: –

I received your letter a few days ago & was glad to hear from you.

That was good news about the Cravettoes (or Spagettoes) I wonder how Min & Annie are getting on?

The McNeill I mentioned is the younger one you referred to. I did not see the other McTavers. Did the oldest fellow sign-up?

I did not see any of the Island bunch. Dollar MacLeod is working in the office with me now.

The old battalion is doing great work. I go down to see the boys in their billets each time they come out. The oldtimers are getting fewer & fewer all the time – the "bomb-proofs" will soon be the only ones left.

I just got a "shot-in-the-arm" today. It is supposed to be a preventative against typhoid. It did not have much effect on me but by the way it hit some it looks as if the prevention was worse than the disease.

The H. C. of L. in the West has certainly taken an awful jump it will soon be as bad as the cost of high living.

I see by the papers where The Great War Veteran's Assn. is taking a lively part in some things.

Jack

That must have been some carnival.
