Dear Annie
I received a letter from you a few days before I left England and answered it the next day we left the Old Country, from Liverpool, last Saturday night and have been on this old tub ever since. We had fine weather the first two days out but ever since then it has been a little rough. A good many were sick on Tuesday and Wednesday but most everyone is used to the sea now. I was lucky as I have never been seasick so far. We expect to disembark tomorrow afternoon – we all thought when we left Liverpool that we would be sure to reach Halifax by Friday the 6th but we are still about four hundred miles out.
I intend to stay only a few days in Ch'Town and then beat it for the Coast.
I hope Winnie is alright by now and that yourself and min are working every day.
Jack
