My Dear Mother,

You will be wondering what has happened as I have not written for quite a while. Well we are still going along in the same old way. We are on our billet. The men are out on posts and now and again we take a run out to some place or other. It is beginning to get mighty cold here but we are pretty well fixed and will pull through the winter in fine stile. I got a nice parcel from Gran with one of her old fruit loaves in and it was real good. It did not last ten minutes. It is pretty near time I had a letter from you. I have not had one for over a week. I suppose you are having such a fine time that you have no time to write much but I do get your letters pretty near every week so I think I should be satisfied. I am going to assign another five dollars and it will take effect from Jan. 1st 1916. So from then you will get twenty dollars a month. And let me know every time You get it. Well I have not much more to say. Everybody up north seems to be doing well and as for myself I could not be better. So I hope you are all the same. Remember me to the Arkley’s. And give my love to Eve and Father and my best to yourself.

Ever your effectionate
Son
Eddie
