Dear Neice and all

Just a few lines in ancer to your kind and welcome letter which I recived today and was sure glad to hear from you, your letter was ritting Dec 15 you said in your letter yous was having a box social at Hillsdale, did yous have a good time. I would of liked to beene there, but if all goes well I’ll be there the next time. Be sure and let me know how got your box at the social (ha ha)

Well Gladys I dont know hardely what to rite, I got four letters to knight and I have them all to ancer I got a letter from Tressie Price and a parcel to night she said there were a lot out there sick with the flue, Mary Rosses Brother died with the flu, it is sure a afful thing

I herd that Burt Monroe was back from the west again, and he was going to work for George Pinkerton he musent like the west very good, or maybe he is taking some body back west with him, you said there were too lads back home to Burks Falls they are very lookey

Well Gladys I must soon close I have three or four letters to rite and you know that I’m not much of a letter riter, but I sure like to git lots of mail, how is Mary and John and Gorden giting along at school, and do they like there Teacher, is the baby walking yet, well I must close for this time hoping to hear from you soon again, good by.
