Lark Hill Camp
January 21st 1915

Dear Miss Mansell,

I am sorry that I have not written to you before in answer to your kind offer. We are still on the plain and training hard. The weather has been very favourable recently and we have been working almost night and day. Reville has been as early as 4.45 a.m. and yesterday we were up at 5.45 a.m. and got back to camp at 3. a.m. this morning, after field operations and night entrenching. However hard work makes us fit and helps to keep up the spirits of the men. The latest report has it that our division will be in France on the 10th of February. If it is not possible to get up to London before we go, I will drop you a line. Once more thanking you and trusting that I may yet pay you a visit, I am

ever yours sincerely
Herbert.
