Dear Boggs
We were so sorry to read in the paper the other evening that your son was killed at the Front. Mrs Brookfield sends her love to Mrs Boggs, and joins me in expressing our heart felt sympathy in your great affliction. One thing you can be proud of he died a heroe’s death in defence of his Country. Oh, this cruel war. When will it be over?
It seems to me that it has only begun. It is right before us here, as we have the war ships coming and going all the time, and one sees the streets full of soldiers, and a fine looking lot they are. I hope you and Mrs Boggs are well
