Dear Bo –
I am just in receipt of a letter from my Aunt in Halifax, stating that you had lost one of your sons in the war, but she did not tell me whether it was Arthur or Herbert. I am very much grieved at your loss, and my deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs. Boggs, the children and yourself in your bereavement.
‘tis a glorious thing to die for ones country, but it is poor consolation for those who have to mourn the loss of those near and dear to them. I hope you are all well and that you are getting a share of whatever business is offering these hard times.
With my Kindest remembrances to you all.
Yours sincerely
W.H. [?]
