Dear Harold

I am ashamed of myself not answering your welcome letter sooner I got a start the other day – having very little to do I took your letter out and read it over and noticed you expected to be at Winnall Down until the 13th March however I was quite safe after getting home Jim told me he had a letter from you from the same address.

As usual everything is very quiet here. The family are out tonight all except Father Mother and I – so you can guess the home is jolly quiet.

Jenny and Charlie are still at the dancing class and getting on very well

I am at a dancing class in Glasgow every Tuesday evening. Quite a nice company, the gentlemen are in the majority which makes it all the better.

Still no picture houses – but I am taking a boy of eleven years to see Charlie Chaplin in ‘Shoulder Arms’ this week – Have you see that picture? – I hear it is simply splendid – shrieks of laughter all the time We have had very fine weather lately plenty of sunshine – fine weather to be on holiday

What do you think of the snaps? – I have just got them developed – I think they are very good. I didn’t expect to see anything when they were developed and printed.

Whenever do they intend sending you home? – it seems a shame to keep you hanging on so long doing absolutely nothing Judging from you description of Winnall it seems a bit like our place here.

It is really a shame to trouble your sister about sending views here – although they will be appreciated very much I can assure you.

I am please to hear you are always getting good news from home which helps to brighten things up a bit

Well Harold I wont say more meantime trusting this finds you keeping well and happy

best wishes
Yours very sincerely
Jean.
