Dear Mother:
Another week has passed and I am still here at the depot. There is nothing exciting going on here either, everything is so dead like I spend quite a number of nights at the billet reading. When I do go out I never get farther than this place which is about ten minutes walk from our home.
I had a letter from Rollie last week in which he told me a little N.W. news about Beatrice’s operation etc. He is not very far from here, I may get down next week-end if possible.
In another week I should get a reply to letters written from Bristol Hospital when I landed. If the mail service is up to usual five weeks should supply an answer if it is sent as soon as a letter reaches you.
I got another letter from Roy today, he is still feeling O.K. and likes his work pretty well. I went to call on a friend of his the other day and according to his picture Roy is a fine looking soldier and as the home paper said some time ago “a fine advertisement of B.C.” He sure looks some class with his little mustache, about ten years older I think.
Well Mother I have no news to tell you now so had better close this little note. I have not seen anything since I came here. Bye Bye for now with heaps of love to all.
Your loving son
Harold.
