Dear Mother:-
Rec’d your letter of July 28th-31st this morning but no other mail came along. The letter reached herein twenty three days whether the P.O. clerks are on strike or not. As it is a rainy evening for a change I did not go down town to the Wesleyan but dropped in here at the Camp Y.M. to drop a note to tell you I had rec’d it.
No doubt the girls are some size now and the boys also, I have tried once or twice to picture Slim but he is at the age that changes a lot in 2 ½ years. Must be a big family now as far as size goes Well I am just the same old size as when I left so you know where to fit me in.
You mentioned Ruth being ill, she wrote me, at least I got a letter a week ago from her. She said she was not very well this summer and I guessed when she admitted it there was something amiss.
Well Mother this routine is so alike here that I can’t find any news to tell you. It is getting well down in August now I suppose next thing will be school again. Next month I suppose it will start raining here and continue for six months or so. That will be my test for fever etc.
Well Mother must say Bye Bye with lots of love to all
Your loving son
H.
P.S.
Things are looking brighter in the war zone lately but I suppose the causaulty lists are big
