DEAR SIS:-

YOUR LETTER CAME THIS WEEK AND IT’S MARKED TEN. THE ONE BEFORE WAS TEN ALSO SO OF COURSE YOU JUST GUESSED ONE OUT. I THINK I’VE MISSED THREE OF YOUR LETTERS OR MAYBE JUST TWO.

ALL MARY’S AND MOTHERS CAME THROUGH UP TO THIRTY FIVE THEN THIRTY EIGHT CAME THIS WEEK SO I’M LOOKING FOR THE OTHER TWO. THEY SENT A PARCEL TOO BUT SO FAR THERE IS NO SIGN OF IT. THANKS FOR THE STICK OF GUM. JEN HAMILTOM (NELLIES COUSIN) KNIT ME A PAIR OF SOCKS. SO I WILL HAVE A GOOD STOCK WHEN MARY’S PARCEL GETS HERE.

TOMORROW I GET A HALF DAY OFF SO I HOPE TO GET TO CHURCH IN THE P.M. AS I DON’T DO ANYTHING BUT FLY AND STUDY JUST NOW THER’S NOTHING MUCH TO TELL YOU. I LIKE MY PILOT AND MY OBSERVER AND OF COURSE THAT HELPS A GOOD DEAL.

MOST OF THE TIME I’M [censored] AND HAVE CERTAINLY BEEN WORKING HARD.

MOTHER SAYS GOWIN IS IN GIBRALTER AND SO I WILL TRY TO SEE HIM IF I AM EVER THERE. THAT MUST BE A HOT SPOT JUST NOW. TED HASN’T WRITTEN TO ME YET BUT I KNOW HE IS VERY BUSY. THE HEATHER IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL NOW AND SEEMS TO LAST A LONG TIME. PREHAPS I’LL GET A BIT TOMORROW AND PUT IT IN THIS FOR YOU. OF COURSE IT WON’T LOOK NATURAL BUT IT’S THE BEST I CAN DO.

I’M JUST PRINTING THIS AS FAST AS POSSIBLE SO AS TO GET A BIT OF PRACTICE FOR COPYING MORSE. HOPE YOU CAN READ IT.

I CAN’T THINK OF ANY MORE NOW BUT AS YOU KNOW I THINK A LOT OF YOU AND ALWAYS WISH FOR YOUR HAPPINESS AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AND JOHN. ANYWAY WHATEVER IS IN STORE YOU HAVE MY BEST WISHES AND LOVE – - – –

XXXXXXX
Lawrence.
