Dear Dad

Your letter of Jany. 12th only arrived to-day as one mail has been held up a little lately. I am sure sorry you have been on the rocks again, but hope you are O.K. by the time this reaches you.

At least we are getting our cold weather. It is about the same as we had a year ago December, but I don’t feel it as much as I did then. In fact I am getting fairly well used to the climate altho I would never get to like it. I am glad I had my leave earlier for it would be terrible to come back from the South to this weather.

I have heard nothing more about going to London, and until we get word that it has been turned down, there is always a chance. Of course everyday lost now, means that much harder work when I do get there, and it will be hard too as the mathematical part of it, I find very difficult.

Too bad you had the run in with Lecko, as he is rather nasty anyway, but he should have done something. Hope you sent him the glasses.

Surprised to hear about Miss Pratt, it is surely too bad. We are losing quite a few and have just lost our first Canadian patient. It is also very likely that one of the Sisters will slip out. She is very low. Of course she is in another hospital (down the Canal). She is a London girl. The Canadian we lost was from London, but had nothing to do with the unit. Very probably he was a leave man, taken sick passing thro. We lost four thro the night, last night or the night before. It is really terrible.

I was down-town to night, but don’t go out very often. In fact not often enough for exercise.

Had a good letter from Mir. to-day, the first since she returned. I intended answering it to-night, but hardly have time now. I have a few more snaps to send her, which she can forward to you.

Love to all,
Your affectionate son
Worth
