Dear Mother

Just a note to let you know I am in the best of health. I have received all the parcels and I want to thank you for everything its really so darn good of you and it must cost you a awful lot. well I think we are going to have quite a good Christmas we have all put in two shilling each and the Captain has arranged for us to have a dance on Christmas eve a big feed on Christmas Day with a Christmas tree apparentey we are getting some presents I guess they are from some axualley we are also having a concert on the 26^th so you see I think we will have a very good time however I will let you know how every thing comes off. I wish you would thank Mrs Wright for the cookies I don’t know her address so will close for just now lots of love to all
