Dear Jennie,

How’s scar-face the pistol packer? So you’re right in there like sleeves on a waistcoat with Bill Mann. Good show. Have they blacked out the lights in Moody Park?

“Hello dis place! How many mens down dis menhole?”
“Tree mens down dis menhole”
“O.K. Hef of youse come up den!”

Whats this busanith that you got free credits for? What good are credits except in the bank.

‘Red nose the voiceless’ from Bowen Island she was known as in them thar days.

So you want to know all about your namesake the farmerette? Well she’s the same age as I am, about five foot four inches tall, beautiful dark brown hair, lovely big brown eyes, and has a smashing smile complete with dimples. Such a deal that she should be my cousin. Maybe you should write to her. I guess the address would be c/o Mr. Muirhead ‘Greentowers Farm, near Kirkfieldbank, Lamackshire. Ask dad and maybe he would know the address more accurately. Jeannie stays at the farm most of the time but Uncle Will stays across the other side of the clyde and travels back and forth every day. My namesake Alex. is quite tall and works with the department of agriculture as an engineer looking after farm machinery.

‘Greentowers’ is quite a big farm, has about 20 or 30 cows and electric milkers and all the rest of the modern trimmings, tractors etc. They have a few horses too and a couple of land army girls – the ‘kind’ that wear kaacki corduroy breeches and green sweaters.

How did you make out at White Rock on the 24th. I guess three in a bed is O.K. except for the third one in with Priscilla and Winnie.

Don’t know why in the world you’re going to Pender Island. If its still like I remember it you’ll die of boredom. Why Don’t you tool down to Seattle or something like that.

You must be a crafty sod at creeping in at the wee [sma’?] ’ours. I could never manage it without waking somebody.

Cheerio for now
Sandy
