My Two Dear Little Sisters,–

Well girls here is that long waited for letter that I have been intending to write for so long. I have continually been receiving mail from you both as well as a parcel. I also received 2 large parcels from Mum and 1 from Frances and then a lot of cigarettes from Dad, he must have sent me well over a thousand all at once.

I have been back off leave three weeks to-day and am still in England. I was put on a draft for Italy last week but the M.O. took me off. I also was put on a draft for France and he again took me off of it. I expect I will be going back to France or down to Italy sometime this week or the beginning of next. They have been keeping me back here in England just merely to put me back into condition. I don't know whether I told you or not but when I landed in France I weighed 169 lbs and after I was wounded my six weeks in France had lost over 14 pounds for me. I have gotten most of it back now though.

I had a nine days leave and spent every moment of it at Silvia’s, I had a really good time. I may tell you of it some time. There really isn't anything serious there on my end of it though even she does want to come to Canada with me. I just like to go there to have a good time, it is a lot cheaper than going to London or elsewhere. Since I have been back off leave I have been back to see her three times. The people really use me swell down there. Rather than go back again this week end I went to London to get away from it all for a while. I had a good time too. We went ice skating three times while we were there. I went with one of the chaps from the Reg. that is at #3. C.I.R.U. with me. We also went dancing Saturday night and canoeing on the Thames on Sunday morning. So all in all we didn't have a bad weekend even though it did cost us 4.10 a piece, about $22.50, money doesn't go far over here especially in London.

I have heard from Morgan once since I got back off leave. I expect by now he is well into the midst of it in Holland or France.

Well girls it is now 10.30 P.M. and I must be getting my beauty sleep so it's “so long” for now
