“WELL DONE CANADA” GREETS THIRD CONTINGENT
FROM “SOMEWHERE-IN-CANADA” to “Somewhere-in-England” is a long and hazardous trip, but this shipload of cheering Canucks made it successfully. Under the guarding wing of the royal navy, the great gray transports, many of them former luxury liners, slid into British ports to be welcomed by hospitable crowds who entertain them as royally as shown on the opposite page
[Editor’s note: Pte. (then Cpl.) Duncan is identified elsewhere in the collection as having arrived with the First Contingent, in which case the photo used may have been taken earlier than the headline would otherwise suggest.]
