THE LAST BRIDE MAKES IT
There have been protests both loud and long – and they are still being heard – on this side of the Atlantic as well as on the other from husbands and wives still separated by the wide sea. This cartoon illustrates the situation to somewhat far-fetched perfection. It appeared in a recent issue of the London Sunday News and was forwarded to Norman Davison here by his wife, Patty, who is still living in Horsham, England, but who would much rather be in Toronto with Norman. Davison was chairman of the group of one-time servicemen who visited the Minister of Defense at Ottawa recently to seek immediate transportation from Britain to Canada of their British wives and children. The delegation received the assurance of the Minister that their brief would be presented to Parliament at an early date.
