February 23rd
My Dearest Mother:-
Many thanks for your parcel sent on January 22nd. It reached me last night and I have enjoyed it all very much. The cake was in fine condition and all of our corner of the hut say it was the best yet. I have written to Aunt Anne to thank her for the socks which were enclosed. Have been doing practically nothing this afternoon. This morning we had a route march and in the afternoon we had a baseball game, but I only played a few innings as there was a chilly wind blowing.
Well, Mother, I will write you more tomorrow.
Yours with love
Frank
