Dear Hazel -
It is quite a long time since I have heard from or written to you so perhaps I really owe you a letter. As you will notice by the address above I have been transferred. This is an entirely different kind of place from Norwich. Every thing is military here while it was more like a home at the other place.
I haven't any idea how soon I will be sent back to Canada. The men are going back from here every day so perhaps my turn will come soon. Altho I am having no special treatment so far I am getting better every day. Of course I wear a big boot all the time for my drop-foot. You may not know what that is but they usually take about a years treatment to fix them up. Still the MD. tells me that mine isn't a bad one so I guess I will be all right again before long. I went for a little walk last night with only a cane and got along all right so perhaps I may be able to throw away my crutches soon. It only takes a few minutes to go from here to London on either train or bus so I will be well away when I can walk a little better. Tell Lee I had luncheon in the Charing Cross Hotel the other day. I think he will be familiar with the place.
We get fine eats here and lots of everything. There are lots of visitors every day and I understand that we will have quite a good celebration at Xmas. They are nearly all Canadians here and several from London Ont.
There isn't much news to write about. This should reach you about xmas time and assuming that it will I will wish you a Very Happy Xmas and all the best wishes for the New Year. Be sure and write whenever you can and I will try and write often.
Yours
Jack
